Can longer service justify higher salaries?
The European Court of Justice has given its decision in the case brought by Health and Safety Executive inspector Bernadette Cadman. UCU will be considering the implications of this decision which focuses on the extent to which longer service can - or cannot - justify higher salaries. Any branches approached by members or employers arising from press reports of this case are advised to seek advice from their Regional Office in the first instance whilst we consider the implications.
