Safety Issues

I have recently taken over as the UMUCU Assistant Secretary for Health & Safety, and wanted to write to invite you to an upcoming meeting of the H&S network, which will be held on Friday 22nd October at 12 – 1pm in the Manchester Interdisciplinary Biocentre, situated at the northern end of the campus..

The aim of the UCU H&S network is to highlight H&S as an important aspect of all work activities, and to try to improve H&S within the workplace. Members of the network sit on all of the main University H&S committees, ensuring that Union members’ interests are represented. We aim to ensure that there is UCU representation at all H&S committee meetings throughout the University – but we need your help for this!

If you are interested in H&S, there are a number of ways you can get involved: ·

I hope that some of our members will decide to become more actively involved in H&S within the University. The involvement can be as much or as little as you wish – but if you are interested, or want more details, please do get in touch by either emailing me directly (tanya.aspinall@manchester.ac.uk) or via the UCU office (ucu@manchester.ac.uk). I hope you will take this opportunity to become more involved.

Best Regards,
Tanya Aspinall, UMUCU Assistant Secretary for Health and Safety
